After only a day and a half, it was time to say good-bye to London and catch a train to the North of England. A delay got them stuck in Crewe for an hour, but they eventually made it to Chester, where they will be staying with a friend for a few days. Chester is a smaller town south of Liverpool. I imagine they will be daytripping into Liverpool and see another side of England that mere tourists might not see nor appreciate.
It brings me back to 2017 when we were lucky enough to be introduced to the beauty of the Lake District by a dear friend. We too took the train from London to Morecambe Bay, but we never stopped to visit Liverpool, or Manchester, or any other big cities. I guess after a few days of London we had enough of all the people.
I’m glad Thomas and his girlfriend have planned in a couple of days to just have fun with their friends. And I think this time Fish ‘n Chips are certainly going to be on the menu. Just as long as there are no mushy peas.
